General Terms and Conditions – Meat World Competitions
- The Terms and Conditions (T’s & C’s) set out below apply to all participants who enter any of the Meat World competitions.
- Please read these T’s & C’s carefully. Participation in this competition will constitute your agreement to comply with the T’s & C’s.
The Promotor
- The competition is organised by the Meat World Group (“the Promoter”) through its agency Red Pen Marketing (Pty) Ltd.
Competition Period
- The competition will be presented as advertised in the media. No entries received after the closing date and time will be considered
- The Promotion Period may be extended or shortened at the discretion of the promoter.
Who can enter
- All participants in the Competition (“Participants”) must, at the time of the competition:
- be a natural person and be at least 18 (eighteen) years old;
- be a citizen and legal resident of the Republic of South Africa;
- be in possession of a valid South African identity document, residence/work permit and/or driving licence;
- be resident or present in South Africa for the duration of the competition period and for the period during which the prize is drawn, and the delivery or collection of the prize/s takes place.
- Participation in the competition excludes directors, members, partners, promotional and advertising agents, traders, employees or consultants of the promoter or any third parties involved in the running of the competition, whether directly or indirectly (including but not limited to not to agencies, organizers and/or participating shops of the competition) as well as the members of the immediate family (being spouses, partners, parents, children, brothers, sisters, fathers and/or mothers) and/or business partners or associates of any of the aforementioned persons.
How to participate in the competition and awarding of prizes
- To participate in the competition, participants must follow the instructions as given in the various media.
- Winners will be notified by email or phone. The decision of the organizers is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
- Text messages cost R1.50 each, and participants may enter more than once.
- All entries will be dcumented and loaded into a database. By entering the competition, The Participant gives permission to The Promoter to use his/her personal contact information for future promotions. The Promoter will select winners by draw at it’s own discretion.
- All prize winners will be announced on the promoter’s Facebook and Instagram pages and then contacted via the provided email address on the entry SMS.
- Prizes will be awarded as indicated in the various media
- It is the participants’ responsibility to provide the correct contact details (email address) when entering the competition. If the email address provided is incorrect, the winner will forfeit the prize, and it will be transferred to the next randomly selected entry.
- All prize winners will have 48 hours, after being contacted, to claim and collect their prize from the participating store. No prizes will be transported and it is the sole responsibility of The Participant to collect his prize from the specific store. Prizes are not transferable. Should the winner win cash, an invoice will have to be provided to Meat World, whereafter the money will be paid into the winner’s banking account. No cash will be given to winners. If the contestant wins meat vouchers, he/she can only exchange it for meat in the specific store and not for cash.
- The Promoter will arrange a convenient store visit with each winner to accept their prize, documenting the exchange with photos that will be uploaded to Facebook and Instagram.
- The Pomoter reserves the right to carry out reasonable due diligence to confirm eligibility and may refuse to award the prize to a participant if any irregularities or fraudulent activities are suspected.
- The Promoter reserves the right to withdraw the prize and/or disqualify any entrant/winner who may bring the promoter’s trademarks into disrepute.
- By entering any of the Meat World Competitions, the contestant agrees that he/she will not held Meat World or its subsidiaries liable for any loss or injury.
- There will be no communication whatsoever with any participant about the competition.
- The Promoter reserves the right to change and adapt any competition rules as the Promoter sees fit.
Meat World 10K Till - Slip Competition Terms and Conditions
1. Eligibility: Any customer is entitled to enter the competition.
2. Entry Requirements: Customers must spend R300.00 or more in-store at a participating Meat World Branch to obtain a valid entry to the competition.
3. Consent to Marketing:
a. By entering the competition, customers agree to the use of their contact number for Meat World marketing purposes, including SMS broadcasts.
b. Customers also consent to the use of their details, such as name, surname, and image, for Meat World marketing purposes, which may include, but are not limited to, social media posts and newsprint publications.
4. Revocation of Prize: Failure to comply with the above conditions (3) after being drawn as a winner will result in the customer’s position as a winner being revoked, and a new winner will be drawn from the batch of till slips from which the initial winner was drawn.
5. Liability: Meat World will not be held liable for any damages associated with the competition, including but not limited to, theft, injury, and loss of life.
6. Validity of Entries: Till slips entered into the competition during the course of the month will only be valid for selection for that month. Till slips are not carried over unless:
a. The till slip has been submitted after the draw has taken place. In this case, the customer’s till slip will be added to the following month’s collection of till slips for that particular draw.
7. Multiple Entries: Customers may enter as many times as they want within the valid period (1st of the month until the last day of the month).
8. Notification of Winners: The winning customer will be contacted by the branch telephonically only, where they will be required to confirm their details present on the entry form. Failure in confirmation of these details will result in the winning till slip being revoked, and a new winner will be drawn as per point 4.
9. Response Time: The winning customer will need to answer the call made by the branch. If the winning customer does not answer, they will have 7 Days from the initial call made by the Branch to make contact with the branch. If the winning customer does not make contact within this period, a new till slip will be drawn as per point 4, and the initial winning till slip drawn will be revoked. 10. Prize Collection: The winning customer will need to appear at the branch with proof of identity, such as a valid driver’s license or identification document, when claiming their prize.
11. Non-compliance: The prize will not be awarded if point 10 is not met.
12. Proxy Collection: The winning customer may not send a proxy to claim their prize. If the winning customer is unable to collect the prize, arrangements must be made in writing and emailed to the branch. For a list of Meat World contact details, visit [www.meatworld.co.za/stores]
13. Termination of Competition: Meat World reserves the right to terminate this competition at any point without prior notification.
14. Disqualification: Meat World reserves the right to disqualify any entries if fraudulent activity or non-compliance with these terms and conditions is suspected.
15. Changes to Terms and Conditions: Meat World reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice.
16. Competition Period: This competition is valid from 1 March 2024 until 31 December 2024.
17. Acceptance of Terms: By entering this competition, participants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions and any decisions made by Meat World, which are final and binding in all respects.

5. General
The Meat World Customer Loyalty Program, Stokvel Cards, and Gift Cards are operated by Meat World (We, Us, or Our). By participating in or acquiring any of the above, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions. (Available at participating Meat World Branches)
The Program is only valid within participating Meat World stores within South Africa.
1. LOYALTY CARDS
1.1 All customers are entitled to a free Loyalty Card as part of the normal mode of sale. To join our free Loyalty Program, you must first collect a Loyalty Card from any participating Meat World store.
1.2 Customers must supply a valid driver’s license or ID (Identification Document) when applying for a Loyalty Card.
1.3 Upon the purchase of any product, if you present a valid Loyalty Card at checkout, you will receive points against your purchase which can be used to facilitate a purchase in-store.
1.4 Loyalty Cards are subject to use only at the store in which they were acquired (i.e., a Loyalty Card issued from Meat World Boksburg cannot be used at an alternative branch).
1.5 Redeeming Rewards
1.5.1 To redeem the value in points to facilitate a purchase, you must present a valid Loyalty Card at the point of sale along with your valid driver’s license or ID.
1.5.2 Inform the cashier that you would like to redeem your points against the purchase you are making. A store manager will validate the transaction, and the value of the points in ZAR Rands will be deducted from the customer’s Loyalty Card.
1.6 Expiration of Points
1.6.1 Points acquired on a Loyalty Card have an expiration period of 5 years. Customers failing to utilize their accumulated points within this period will forfeit these points and their associated ZAR Rand value.
1.6.2 Once the expiration period of loyalty points has been met, the customer’s loyalty points will revert to zero and start accumulating upon the customer’s next purchase.
2. GIFT CARDS
2.1 All customers can purchase Meat World Gift Cards.
2.2 Customers must supply a valid driver’s license or ID (Identification Document) when applying for a Gift Card.
2.3 Upon purchasing a Gift Card, the customer will be required to specify the value to be loaded on the Gift Card.
2.4 Gift Cards are only valid at the branch from which they were acquired.
2.5 The value loaded onto the Gift Card will be the cost associated with this purchase.
2.6 The person to whom the Gift Card was gifted will be able to facilitate purchases in-store at Meat World to the value of ZAR Rands loaded onto the card.
2.7 Each transaction made will see a decrease in value equivalent to the sum of the total transaction cost.
2.8 Expiration of Gift Cards
2.8.1 The expiration of the Gift Card is 24 months from purchase.
2.8.2 If the card has not been used within this period, and there are still valid funds on the card, a customer may request for the expiration date to be renewed, so long as the card has not already expired. In this event, please contact your store manager.
3. STOKVEL CARDS
3.1 All customers are entitled to register for a Meat World Stokvel Card.
3.2 Customers must supply a valid driver’s license or ID (Identification Document) when applying for a Stokvel Card.
3.2.1 If several individuals are to use the Stokvel Card, their valid driver’s license or ID will also be required.
3.2.2 Individuals whose details are not registered with the Stokvel Card number are not permitted to use the Stokvel Card.
3.3 Upon acquiring a Stokvel Card, the customer will be required to activate the card by uploading a predetermined ZAR Rand value of their choice.
3.4 Depositing onto Your Stokvel Card
3.4.1 The registered user(s) of the Stokvel Card may top-up the value of the card (ZAR Rand value) at any point in time.
This transaction will take place in-store.
3.4.2 When topping up, the registered user of the Stokvel Card needs only to ask the cashier for assistance and specify the top-up value.
3.4.3 Proof of identification will be required; individuals not registered with the Stokvel Card number will not be allowed to top-up the ZAR Rand value on the associated card.
3.5 Facilitating Transactions with Your Stokvel Card
3.5.1 The person(s) registered to the Stokvel Card will be able to facilitate purchases in-store at Meat World to the value of ZAR Rands loaded onto the card.
3.5.2 Stokvel Cards are only valid at the branch from which they were issued.
3.5.3 Each transaction made will see a decrease in value equivalent to the sum of the total transaction cost.
4. LOST/STOLEN CARDS
4.1 Meat World will not be held responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged cards.
4.2 Meat World will not be held responsible for the associated loss in value present on any cards related to the above (4.1).
4.3 All cardholders are advised to record the unique barcoded number present at the back of the card.
4.4 In the event of (4.1), we urge you to contact the branch (via email and telephonically) from which the card was issued and provide them with the unique barcoded number so as to have the card canceled.

4.6 Meat World will not be held responsible for any unauthorized use of the cards before 4.4 is carried out by the cardholder.
5. GENERAL
5.1 Loyalty Cards cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer.
5.2 The monetary value present on the cards cannot be redeemed or exchanged for cash or any other rewards. You cannot sell or transfer your Loyalty Card to anyone else.
5.3 We reserve the right to terminate your membership in our Loyalty Program or cards if we believe you have engaged in fraudulent or unlawful activity or have failed to comply with these Terms and Conditions.
5.4 We may discontinue our Loyalty Cards at our sole discretion, with no liability to you. If so, we will notify you by publicly posting on our website at https://www.meatworld.co.za.
5.5 We may change these Terms and Conditions or add new Terms and Conditions at any time at our sole discretion. If so, we will publish an updated version on our website at https://www.meatworld.co.za. Your continued participation in our Loyalty Program or use of cards will constitute your acceptance of such changes.
5.6 These Terms and Conditions apply to our Loyalty and Card Program in South Africa and are governed by the appropriate laws.
